Program Description

Barú 2030 is a comprehensive three-tier initiative aimed at strengthening the early childhood ecosystem on the island of Barú, Colombia. In the first tier, aeioTU works directly in communities to improve teaching practices, professionalize informal childcare, support early childhood research, and train families in parenting practices that promote child development. The second tier centers on community engagement, including multisectoral collaboration, leadership training, and the use of evidence in policymaking. The third tier focuses on advocacy, establishing communities of practice, and mobilizing investment in environmental education and the circular economy.
